NYS&W Railroad Overview

The NYS&W operates between Syracuse NY. and N.Bergen NJ.

They basically run freight for CSX to and from NJ. on an alternate route so CSX can dedicate more priority trains thru their line in the NJ - NYC area. They recently closed their Syracuse engine facilty and now use the shop in Binghamton, NY. for all repairs.

CSX freight for Binghamton, Little Ferry, N.Bergen and Croxton gets sent from Syracuse to Little Ferry via Binghamton. Little Ferry is NYS&W's headquarters in NJ., and runs a local to N.bergen and Croxton.

Auto's for Little Ferry and Intermodal for N.Bergen do not get sent to NYS&W, they are allways handled by CSX.
